Worst:

Topperland loves the idea of Batman in theory, in practice it appears he can be quite the nuisance Link

The daily beast has done an ode to tighty whities… nuff said see it here

Bad wedding cakes - it's the most special day of your life and you get given this.

Sweet Alternatives to Wedding Cake

Topperland loves cake as all of you know out there (incidentally any bakers out there who happen to be fans of our blog please feel free to drop us some “samples”) but we’re aware that not everyone is a fan of cake so we've put all of our efforts into thinking of some brilliant alternatives so you’re happy on your special day.

Candy Bar

Rather than have a single cake why not have a candy bar? All your favourite sweeties piled up on a lavish table, not only is it more convenient but you can DIY it and it’ll probably work out cheaper too.

Ice Cream Buffet

Having a summer wedding? Why not have an ice cream buffet for a more refreshing change to cake, with lots of toppings and sauces your guests can make a sundae of their dreams.

Wedding Pie

Having a winter wedding and fancy something a bit warmer than the traditional fare why not try wedding pie? Get lots of different flavours so you’ll know that there’s something for everyone.

Profiterole tower/ Croquembouche

Who hasn’t indulged in profiteroles? The sweet chocolate topped pastry dessert filled with cream just has everything you could need from a dessert. This also makes a stunning focal point for the wedding buffet!

Chocolate Fountain

Chocolate fountains are always a brilliant attraction for kids and big kids alike and like the profiterole tower gives a stunning centrepiece to any wedding. Have lots of different things to dip into the gooey chocolate and you’ll be set. Be careful not to get any on your dress though!

So after seeing all of these mouth-watering options what will you be opting for on your wedding day? Will you be going for a traditional cake or maybe a quirky cake or will you be opting for something completely different? Why not get in touch and let us know, leave us a comment or get in touch with the below.

As always we can’t wait to hear from you!

P.S. It doesn’t matter if you go for a cake or something completely different! Our polymer cake wedding figurines will last a lifetime as a wonderful way to remember the most important day of you life!

Cozy Comfort Food

It’s most definitely getting colder here in the Topperland office and with the change in weather we’re looking for warm comfort foods to keep us toasty through the Autumn/Winter months. Here’s Topperland’s run down of our favourites:

5. Soup

Soup is an unlikely comfort food but we all love a bowl of tasty chunky soup with crusty bread we’re loving this Thai Chicken and Sweet Potato Soup.  Why not try it out at home?

4.  Hot Chocolate

Though it’s technically not food it’s still the most comforting drink out there – try making it from scratch with this spicy Mayan Hot Chocolate recipe!

3. Pasta

Carb heavy, filling and warm pasta is the perfect comfort food for Autumn/Winter we love this Bacon and Pumpkin Pasta recipe which is so simple to make but will fill you up and leave you satisfied!

2. Warm Chocolate Cake/Pudding

Curling up with a bowl of chocolate pudding snuggled under a blanket is our idea of heaven! Try this Self Saucing Chocolate Pudding for your very own bowl of loveliness!

1.       Roast Dinner

Whether you’re vegetarian or a meat eater a full roast dinner can be the most comforting thing in the world shared with friends and family around the table. Vegetarian’s try substituting a bland nut roast with a tasty Veggie Pie? For you meat-eaters out there why not try this fun twist on roast chicken with butternut squash and chorizo to flavour it!

These are Topperland’s favourite comfort foods but we want to hear from you what yours are!

Whimsical Wedding Cakes

We love whimsy, the light sweet look that adds a touch of playfulness to anything. What better way to incorporate it than in the cakes? The look is characterised by bright colours and childlike designs which appeals to everyone.

Here are our favourites!

Yes this is in fact a cake

Who else loved the cat in the hat?

We adore this henna design, the colours are just gorgeous!

Loving the tree design for this one

There were so many whimsical Alice in Wonderland cakes to choose from but this was our favourite as it was so simple and elegant.

So hopefully this has given you some idea of what you want on your wedding day! Let us know if these caught your eye and what you’ll be having on your day.

Asian Bridal Make-Up Inspiration

Asian brides are absolutely mind-bogglingly stunning with glitzy make-up elaborate hair pieces and luxurious sari’s that make you weep with the amount of work involved into putting the look together.

Whilst researching the look so many things jumped out at us but it was always the captivating make-up that stayed with us the most so we thought we’d share our favourite looks and video’s so maybe you can replicate the look or part of it on your special day!

Traditional

Traditional Asian bridal make-up is all about the smoky eyes and red lips, it’s a classic for a reason – the key is to get the right shade of red for your lips to match your skin tone

Colour pop

Add colour to your eyes and bronze/pink lips for a brighter look.

Striking Eyes

Pick a striking colour for your eyes for a beautiful bridal look which will stand out from the crowd and don’t forget the false eyelashes for that extra oomph!

Go for gold

Go for gold tones and glowing skin for a radiant look

Topperland loves Asian weddings and all the colours, elaborate make-up and gorgeous glittering jewellery and we've just picked out our favourite looks but what’s your favourite? What did you do on your wedding day?

Why not get in touch and let us know?
