New Years Resolutions and How to Keep Them.

With Christmas coming up fast Topperland is turning her thoughts to what her new years resolution will be for 2013 and how long it will last (October was a record).

With that in mind Topperland has been compiling our best advice for achieving those resolutions whether it be budging some excess weight or stepping up the career ladder.

1.       Be Realistic

The most important thing to do is to set yourself realistic goals such as “I’m going to cut back on cigarettes in an effort to quit smoking” is a more realistic goal than “I’m quitting smoking”.
2.       Be Honest

It’s very easy to fool yourself into thinking it’s not as bad as it is, make an accurate gauge of where you are at the start and set an achievable goal so as not to get disheartened.

3.       Don’t do it alone

No matter what the situation is you can always find someone to support you through it. Why not join a slimming class if that’s your goal or maybe just pop around to a friends for a cuppa and a chat if you need moral support?

4.       Don’t give up

This is the easiest thing to say and one of the hardest things to do. Keep a journal of how you’re feeling day by day and if you slip up accept that it happened and move on from it.

5.       Don’t be too hard on yourself

One of the greatest and worst things about life is that it’s unpredictable and things can change without a moment’s notice. Sometimes you won’t reach your goal but you can still keep on going and you might reach it next time so be optimistic and it’ll probably work out better.

This is Topperland’s best advice for new years resolutions (and in general probably) but the rest is up to you.

Why not get in touch with us and let us know what your new year’s resolution is for 2013 or are you not going to make one?

@Topperland

As always we can’t wait to hear from you soon!

Love,

Topperland
