Alternative Christmas?

Topperland did a quick whip round the office and we found that the thing that we all dislike most about Christmas is the Turkey… Not because it isn’t tasty on the day because it is! It’s the turkey curry, soup, sandwiches and in one horrible case for breakfast.

The problem with turkey is that it’s just such a big bird and even a crown roast will leave you with leftovers. So Topperland is making a stand this Christmas and we’re going to do something different, check out these brilliant alternatives to the traditional turkey!

This herb rolled pork loin looks absolutely delicious and would make a delicious alternative to turkey and you could still have all the trimmings!

Vegetarians always have a hard time of it at Christmas with so little out there to get them through the festive season. So why not give this spinach, barley and squash pie a go? If you’ve got veggies and meat eaters you can serve up a small meat roast and people can mix and match.

Fish used to be a fairly common Christmas meal but these days it’s fallen out of favour for the now traditional turkey, why not give it a go because can you imagine anything more decadent then this gorgeous Salmon Terrine?

Gammon is one of Mr Topperland’s absolute favourite meals so we’ll definitely be doing a gammon joint this Christmas, why not check out this gorgeous recipe for spiced maple glazed ham.

Finally a roast rib of beef is the choice for meat lovers out there and is so easy to carve and use in sandwiches (but you’ll only have one days’ worth)

Well here are Topperland’s top favourites for the festive season; we think we’ll be doing the veggie pie and the gammon joint this year!

What will you be eating?
