Who Says Weddings Have to be White?

We've all heard the famous Billy Idol song but we’re wondering at Topperland, with so many gorgeous colours out there why are women still wearing white for their wedding day?

There are so many traditions for wearing a white dress saying that it shows purity, although it wasn't actually until Queen Victoria controversially wore a white wedding gown in her wedding to Prince Albert that it became the norm. Indeed wedding dresses before then were in fact rather more opulent with lots of colours and embellishments.

Anyway if you’re brave enough here are some of our favourite ways to incorporate colour in your wedding outfit.

1.       The Dress

Whether it’s the whole dress or just a sash, why not make a statement and wear something a bit different?

Shoes

Why wear white shoes to your wedding? Why not flash a cheeky bit of colour with some pretty bright shoes?

Why not pick your shoe colour to match your flowers?

Hair Accessories

Why not swap out the traditional long white veil for a quirky birdcage, coloured veil?

Why not forgo the veil all together and try having some hair clips instead?

I hope this has helped you think of some fun ways to incorporate colour into your wedding and break with tradition!
