Kids at a wedding are always great quality and bring
brilliant photographic moments such as this:
But as the day goes on it’s easy for them to get bored and
tired so here are Topperland’s top tips for keeping the kids busy on the day
whilst still being able to have them at your wedding.
1.
Board Games
Set up a variety of different board games on the kids table
at the reception so that the little ones can keep themselves busy on the day.
Ensure that the boardgames are age appropriate and gender neutral to ensure no
bickering on the day.
2.
Arts and Crafts
Set up some simple arts and crafts for the kids to be
getting on with such as paper dolls, jewellwry making and colouring books –
make sure that it’s nothing that will be spilt over party clothes or won’t be
able to be cleaned off easily at your venue.
3.
Kids Food
Kids are unlikely to enjoy the adult food that you’ll be
serving for your wedding meal so why not set up a small buffet for the kids
with food that’s more age appropriate. Don’t forget to talk to parents first
about any allergies the children may have to ensure the safety of the kids
4.
Hire a babysitter
Why not get parents to chip in for a babysitter for the kids
on your day which will not only work out cheaper for them than hiring specially
for each individual child but will ensure that they can enjoy themselves for
the whole party!
5.
Have a separate kids room
If it’s within your budget then why not set up a separate kits
room as a sort of make-shift crèche so the kids can go make a heinous noise and
have their own separate party. Ensure that someone supervises them at all times
– see babysitter idea above and make sure blankets etc are provided for when
they need to settle down.
So what option will you be going for on your special day?
Will you be having kids at your wedding or will you opt not to have the little
ones there? Why not get in touch and let us know your opinion on the great
debate?
