Just for the Big Day?

It is possibly the most expensive item of clothing that most women will buy in their lifetime and also one of the most sentimental… However with wedding dresses being such awkward bulky items to store most of them end up living their life in the attic in a box.
The question is do you really want the most important dress you will ever wear to go to waste? Here are some of our top tips for re using that very special dress.
1.       Sell It.

It’s a hard thing to consider but why not sell the dress and put the money to a really good cause like a deposit on a house or maybe put it in a fund for your children for when they’re older and you can feel that even though you’ve sold the dress that you have done it for a good reason. Why not try Ebay or Still White to sell your dress but make sure you do your research so you can see how much it would realistically be worth?

2.       Rent it Out

There are so many websites out there that allow you to advertise clothing to be rented for however many days. With rental prices of Wedding Dresses being in the region of £200 per day after just a few days the dress would pay for itself!  Why not try Swap My Dress which is another great website that allows you to buy, sell or hire wedding dresses.

3.       Could you bear to destroy your dress?
There has been a recent trend of women setting up photo shoots which show them deliberately destroying their dress…. On purpose, though this seems like a bit of a waste to Topperland it seems to have become very popular!

     4.       Make it  something new
With dresses coming in all shapes and sizes today you might be able to make your dress into a one off statement piece that you could wear again and again – or possibly a dress for your little princess when she’s old enough.

         5.   Donate it to charity
There are women all over the country who can’t afford a brand new dress and there are some fantastic charities out there which take pre loved wedding dresses in good condition and sell them on so not only will you do your bit for charity but you’ll know that your dress will be loved again by another blushing bride.

Whatever you decide to do with your dress after the big day Topperland can guarantee that we will give you the perfect reminder of your day!
